Lockout tags are used in combination with LOTO devices to clearly signpost that a lockout is taking place. The last thing you need is for some curious person to try to remove a lockout device because it wasn't clearly signposted, and these tags make sure that there's a quick visual deterrent in place to stop people from interacting with critical lockout equipment.
