ABUS 74/40 Intrinsically Safe Padlock

The ABUS 74/40 Intrinsically Safe Padlocks are available in nine standard models, which differ in regards to their colour. The colours available are:

• Black
• Blue
• Brown
• Green
• Grey
• Purple
• Red
• White
• Yellow

Each of these padlocks comes as keyed different with a single key as standard. However, these are only a fraction of ABUS’ 74/40 Intrinsically Safe Padlocks, other models, including keyed-alike and master key padlocks, are also available. ABUS' 74/40 Intrinsically Safe Padlocks also feature removable cylinders which can be re-keyed or keyed to a sample key. In addition to security applications, such as locking lockers, bags, and suitcases, these padlocks have been optimised for lock-out, and tag-out applications and so are suitable for securing machines, switchboards, and job boxes. To this end, these padlocks feature a solid aluminium body and steel shackle which are both insulated against electric shocks. In addition to this, each padlock's shackle is surrounded by a non-corrosive NANO PROTECT™ coating, these features work to make this padlock intrinsically safe and therefore suitable for use in hazardous environments.

As well as being intrinsically safe, these padlocks are also secure: they are double bolted, self-locking, and key retaining, features which work to reduce the risk of accidentally leaving the padlock open. The ABUS 74/40 Intrinsically Safe Padlocks also include a high-precision six-pin cylinder and paracentric keyway which protect the padlocks against manipulation.
